Last week-end I was outside of Toronto for a family wedding. It was a lovely setting, and I wanted to share a sample of photos from the area and the wedding.
This is a beautiful part of Canada. Hopefully you will be lucky enough to spend time travelling in this wonderful country.
Haven’t heard of Bala Bay before – Muskoka is a beautiful area. No longer just cottage country I guess – my mother spent summers in Muskoka back in the 1930s.

I’d say the term “cottage” has a wide variety of interpretations in Muskoka. We saw a few lovely, LARGE cottages, but I’m sure there are lots of quaint, old ones around too.

I love Canada, spent 7 weeks there a few years ago and will return one day.

Where were you in Canada? I live in the west, so visiting Ontario is a trip for me!

I’m not surprised, it’s such a big country. 2004. Saw quite a bit. Highlights were polar bears in Churchill, the landscapes in Yukon, the Rocky Mountaineer (and the Rockies), catching up with a friend in Winnipeg (yes Winnipeg), and I really enjoyed the diversity of Alberta where I see you live.

Churchill is on my wish list. I went to school in Winnipeg so I have friends there and visit – just try to avoid it in the winter months. Nice you were able to get around so much! Y’all come back any time!

Muskoka is soooo beautiful! It amazes me how lush and green it is. But my favourite is heading out of the city in the fall… the colours are amazing especially when they’re set against a blue sky and blue lake. It’s also amazing to me that this is really only about an hour a half outside of such a major city! Thanks for sharing, Terri! Great photos.

Olga, of course the hour and a half you are referring to is with good traffic, right? Being from Alberta, I can’t believe all the cars on the highway around Toronto. That would drive me insane! I guess I’m just spoiled. Terri

Ha! Well, yes… Long weekends around here start early Friday (sometimes even Thursday evening). But it’s worth the drive!

It’s wonderful. I’ve only stopped over in Canada to transfer to flights to NYC. I’ll have to come back properly 🙂
