Time once again for the Daily Post weekly photo challenge. This week’s theme is masterpiece. The world is full of many fabulous masterpieces to choose from – decisions, decisions, decisions. After a quick perusal of my photographs I decided on a few architectural details from Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. These details could all be considered masterpieces. The Palace is made up of many beautiful buildings with the most phenomenal detailing. It is located in the heart of Sultanahmet, the oldest part of the city. Check out my links to learn more. I love Turkey – the culture, the architecture, the scenery, the people, the food, the shopping, the history – get the idea? If you ever have an opportunity to visit Istanbul, you must go. Drop me a line and I can connect you with my friend in Turkey – an incredible Turkish guide and a personal shopping guide. I also have a friend in Calgary who organizes fantastic small tours to Eastern and Western Turkey.
The Topkapi Palace is an amazing mishmash of different styles covering the 400 years it was the epicentre of the Ottoman imperial court. Love the images.

Thanks, Jack. I can’t wait to go back and take more photos with a newer camera. It’s amazing how much the digitals have improved over the years.

We didn’t visit the palace when we were in Istanbul, and now looking at your photos I regret this. Oh well I suppose I will just have to go back 🙂

Thanks, Colline. I must say I’m generally disappointed in the quality of my photos from that trip. I’ve upgraded my camera a couple of times since. Now I need to go back and redo the photos. How’s that for an excuse to go to Turkey again?
