Last month I spent 2 days at the Taos Mountain Music Festival. The first day was a cool day – literally – as it rained off and on throughout the day. I feel a chill just thinking about it. The saving grace was the music, which was most enjoyable. There was an interesting mix of performers, for example Shannon McNally and Hot Sauce, Donna the Buffalo, Ozomatli, Langhorne Slim and my personal favorite – Leftover Salmon. And no, I’d never heard of any of them before. Of course, I don’t get out much. This is the first year the festival took place over 2 days, and even with the iffy weather, it was great. The second day started with some light showers, but the rain simply threatened for the rest of the day. Everyone was intent on having a good time, and people working the festival and the concessions were no exception. Last year was my first Taos Mountain Music Festival, and I must say great improvements have been made. Next year promises to be outstanding!
