This is a busy time of the year as I am preparing for my fibre group’s annual Artisan Sale. Here are the details:
I have been busy in my new print studio. I must say it is incredibly convenient having the studio in the house! I had intended to do a blog post about the development of the studio, and I will. But first I must keep working on items for the sale. As usual, I’m doing a variety of products. My favorites are tea towels that I purchase and then screen print over. Some have plain backgrounds but others are already covered with a design. It’s fun coming up with work that will complement the existing colors and designs.
I also digitally design fabric from my photos. Once manipulated, I have them printed on a cotton/linen blend fabric at Spoonflower. Then I sew them into – you guessed it – more tea towels. I really love art that you can use every day.
Other items that I print on include aprons, gift/wine bags, napkins, placemats, table runners and table cloths. Really anything that looks like it would be fun to print is fair game.
Here are some shots of current work in the studio:
I’m out of the studio for a week while I visit family and friends in Quebec and Ontario. Hopefully I’ll be able to get my blog sorted out. I’ve not made the time to attend to my online presence but I’ll give it a shot this week! Hope to see you again – soon!
