There are some fabulous restaurants in Windsor, one of my favorites being the Chocolate Theatre Company. This little restaurant is centrally located and across the street from our hotel (Sir Christopher Wren Hotel) and they served an impressive selection of hot chocolates, fresh sandwiches and light meals, and EXCELLENT scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. I have no willpower when it comes to eating scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. Absolutely none. Fortunately I’m not in the United Kingdom often enough for it to be a big problem. And yes, I went there more than once!

Another exquisite restaurant is Mango Lounge – possibly the best Indian food I have ever eaten. It was innovative and fresh in appearance and taste. It was a treat. I’m still checking my notes for the descriptions of our dinner from the menu. Hopefully they will turn up. The pictures don’t do the food justice.

An appetizer of sweet corn and potato patties – lightly spiced sweet corn encased in a fried potato cake and served on a bed of fragrant chickpeas. I misplaced the descriptions of these other dishes but you can trust me when I say they were outstanding!

  1. …mmmm! For you to exclaim about food cooked by someone other than you, well, it really must have been outstanding because your cooking is so magnificent!
