Here are my selections for the weekly photo challenge, which is always fun to take part in. If you haven’t tried it, you should. You can go out and photograph something specifically for the challenge, or spend time going through your photo library to see what works. I like going through my photos on Friday evening so I can post every Saturday morning. What does that tell you about my exciting night life?

I’ve selected a detail shot of a butterfly (or moth or whatever – let’s not get technical) as well as a detail from a 26.5 meter parabolic antenna at the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory at White Lake, British Columbia. Gee, maybe I should save these photos for when there is a photo challenge for antenna…

I did take a photo just for the challenge. This is a shot of the soy milk residue and the remnants of my latte. There are hundreds of people who respond to the photo challenge, but I’m willing to bet this is the only photo like this. You can see the reflection of the parabolic louvers of the overhead lighting in my studio. I like it, but I am easily amused.

  1. I’ve recently switched my food blog over to be self-hosted which I hope will make it more user-friendly in the future. As a result, if you were following Can’t Stay Out of the Kitchen via email, WordPress, or using RSS feeds through Google Reader or some other way, you are no longer subscribed. If you wish to continue receiving future posts from my blog you will need to re-subscribe. Sorry for the inconvenience, Teresa.

  2. I remember the observatory in it’s other worldly setting. I remember the first sight of it as we came through that arid landscape – truly bizarre, so unexpected. Thanks for keeping your eyes wide open and recording the world along the way…
